2004 Texas Quarter
The Texas State Quarter was released in 2004 as the twenty eighth coin of the 50 State Quarters Program. The obverse of the coin was designed by William Cousins after John Flanagan. The reverse of the coin was designed by Daniel Miller and engraved by Norman E. Nemeth. The reverse design features an outline of Texas with the Lone Star. Both are encircled by a lariat.

The star is handsome and the ropes are elegant, but the state relief is too cliched, especially for Texas.
