2002 Tennessee Quarter
The Tennessee State Quarter was released in 2002 as the sixteenth coin of the 50 State Quarters Program. The obverse of the coin was designed by William Cousins after John Flanagan. The reverse of the coin was designed by Shawn Stookey and engraved by Donna Weaver. The reverse design celebrates Tennessee’s musical heritage by portraying three musical instruments, which represent the music styles of three different regions.
