2005 Oregon Quarter
The Oregon State Quarter was released in 2005 as the thirty third coin of the 50 State Quarters Program. The obverse of the coin was designed by William Cousins after John Flanagan. The reverse of the coin was designed by Donna Weaver. The reverse design features a scene from Crater Lake National Park. The scene includes Wizard Island, Watchman Peak, and Hillman Peak.

This coin looks better in person than it does on paper, though I’m not sure why.
Ratings:Given the subject matter, this design is a bit of a disappointment. The breathtaking natural beauty of Crater Lake simply does not translate well into a coin design, at least not into this particular coin design. Perhaps a depiction of Mt. Hood would have been a better choice, or maybe a covered wagon theme similar to that used on the Oregon Trail commemorative half dollar.
