2000-D New Hampshire Quarter
The New Hampshire State Quarter was released in 2000 as the ninth coin of the 50 State Quarters Program. The obverse of the coin was designed by William Cousins after John Flanagan. The reverse of the coin was designed by William Cousins. The reverse design features “The Old Man of the Mountain,” a natural rock formation within the state.

The words are almost lost in the relief, certain to wear away quickly. It also looks clumsy off-center. Only after the Old Man’s ill-fated crumbling does this look like a good idea.
