2006 Nebraska Quarter
The Nebraska State Quarter was released in 2006 as the thirty seventh coin of the 50 State Quarters Program. The obverse of the coin was designed by William Cousins after John Flanagan. The reverse of the coin was designed by Charles Vickers. The reverse design features a scene of pioneers crossing the state in an ox drawn wagon. The formation konwn as Chimeny Rock appears in the background along with a full view of the sun.

The sun’s radiating rays are the most appealing aspect. The words “Chimney Rock” are easy to overlook, and will likely be the first design element to wear away in circulation.
Ratings:This coin gives me a warm feeling.The wagon shows me that without the pioneers, we wouldn’t have western states. The sun also feels like it is shining. I believe they should not have added the writing Chimney Rock. It somewhat makes the coin go down in beauty.
