2003 Missouri Quarter
The Missouri State Quarter was released in 2003 as the twenty fourth coin of the 50 State Quarters Program. The obverse of the coin was designed by William Cousins after John Flanagan. The reverse of the coin was designed by Paul Jackson and engraved by Alfred Maletsky. The reverse design features the return of Lewis and Clark to St. Louis on the Missouri River. The National Expansion Memorial Gateway Arch is shown in the background.

I understand the symbolism, but it bothers me that the St. Louis Arch does not span the Mississippi River the way it does here.
