The Martin Van Buren Presidential Dollar was released in 2008 as the eighth coin of the Presidential Dollar Program. Martin Van Buren was the 8th President of the United States, serving from 1837 to 1841. The obverse of the coin was designed by Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill. The reverse design featuring the Statue of Liberty was designed and sculpted by Don Everhart.
