The Hawaii quarter makes effective use of the smooth field of metal to evoke the broad shimmering Pacific. King Kamehameha is possibly the most important figure in state history, and gets a stately “fatherly protector” pose here. This coin looks beautiful now, but is going to look really ugly after being scratched up in circulation.
Ratings:Overall, not a bad design, definately saying “Hawaii” not sure that the native Hawaiian wording adds to it or takes away. Anyone speak native Hawaiian?
