Grand Canyon Quarter

The fourth release of the America the Beautiful Quarters series will be the Grand Canyon National Park Quarter. This site was a natural choice for the state of Arizona, which also featured the Grand Canyon on their prior State Quarter. The reverse design features a view of the granaries above the Nankoweap Delta in Marble Canyon near the Colorado River. This was designed by Phebe Hemphill to represent the impressive natural wonder. The obverse features John Flanagan’s portrait of George Washington with original details restored.

The design is okay but a more “Top of the canyon view down to the Colorado River” view would have worked better.
