The Elizabeth Monroe First Spouse Gold Coin was the fifth release of the First Spouse Gold Coin Program. Elizabeth Monroe served as the First Spouse for the 5th Presidency from 1817 to 1825. The obverse of the coin, which features a portrait of the First Lady, was designed by Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Don Everhart. The reverse of the coin features Elizabeth Monroe at the reopening of the White House in 1818. It was designed by Donna Weaver and sculpted by Charles Vickers.

I never cease to be amazed, this design makes Elizabeth Monroe look like Betty Boop. Will the pain never end? I sincerely hope that they make good investments, otherwise they will have served no useful purpose.
