The Dolley Madison First Spouse Gold Coin was the first release of the First Spouse Gold Coin Program. Dolley Madison served as the First Spouse for the 4th Presidency from 1809 to 1817. The obverse of the coin, which features a portrait of the First Lady, was designed and sculpted by Don Everhart. The reverse of the coin features Dolley Madison in her act of saving the cabinet papers and a George Stuart portrait of George Washington. The reverse was designed by Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Don Everhart.

Not a very earth shaking design. About the only thing going for this one is that it is gold.
Ratings:Overall, not a unpleasent design for this series, however it is a unappreciated and fairly unwanted series. I hope for anyone purchasing them that they eventually have some investment potential, however they are pretty much ignored by the collecting public.
