The Bald Eagle $5 Gold was released as part of the 2008 American Bald Eagle Recovery and National Emblem Commemorative Coins Program. The obverse of the coin featuring young eaglets in their natural habitat was designed by Susan Gamble and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill. The reverse of the coin featuring the current Great Seal of the United States was sculpted by Don Everhart.

A so-so design, but it’s made out of gold! The investment potential will be driven by the gold content.
Ratings:They reused the reverse of the Kennedy Half Dollar basically and stuck two Eagles on the other side. Not overly pleasing, not overly inspired, and not very memorable.
