The Arizona State Quarter was released in 2008 as the forty eighth coin of the 50 State Quarters Program. The obverse of the coin was designed by William Cousins after John Flanagan. The reverse of the coin was designed byJoel Iskowitz and engraved by Joseph Menna. The reverse design features the a view of the Grand Canyon. The foreground includes the saguaro cactus.

  2. This design is also better than most and really is representative of Arizona, however on looking at this, I just have to wonder if they could have done better in some way. I can’t say the barren wasteland is very inviting.
